We have made several changes to our application process including a new SHORT FORM for groups seeking funds for single items or small undertakings.

The Pacific Salmon Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization with a long-term commitment to the conservation and rehabilitation of wild Pacific salmon stocks and their habitat.

Operating independently from government, the PSF forges partnerships with communities, First Nation representatives, provincial and federal government agencies and non-profit organizations to seek funding and resources to support community stewardship of Pacific salmon.

Objectives of the Pacific Salmon Foundation are:

  • To promote the conservation, rehabilitation and enhancement of Pacific salmon for the benefit of present and future generations, and
  • To provide a funding mechanism for projects promoting the conservation, rehabilitation and enhancement of Pacific salmon through our Community Salmon Program.

Types of Projects Supported By the Community Salmon Program

The Pacific Salmon Foundation believes in supporting volunteerism as it relates to community-based salmon rehabilitation and aquatic stewardship volunteer capacity-building initiatives.

Projects that support Pacific salmon and that meet the Community Salmon Program criteria will be considered, such as:

• Habitat assessment
• Habitat rehabilitation
• Stock assessment
• Stock rehabilitation
• Education and awareness
• Community stewardship projects

Application forms available on our website.

Please make an appointment, a minimum of 2 weeks before February 15 with your community advisor and others that you need letters of support from. They need to be familiar with your group, your project and your budget before you ask them for a letter of support.
