OTTAWA -- Fisheries Minister Loyola Hearn, in B.C. today for the first time since the Tories assumed power, announced Tuesday he is halting, at least temporarily, a plan by his department to slash the number of West Coast fisheries enforcement officers.
rest of the story in todays Sun
The gist of which is they will cut the 24 positions (out of 173) sometime soon. Of highlight was that Lokota Hearn's communication and chief of staff of the DFO have taken leave of absences. That may be good or bad. Maybe Hearn has no information (other than how he feels) to work on as well.
