Went out crabbing this afternoon. Dropped the traps at noon, went for sushi in Deep Cove (excellent by the way), checked the traps and got our limit. Lots of good sized females caught too,(and released) so hopefully the breeding stock up there is going to be good for a while longer.

My brother's traps didn't have much rope on them so we dropped them around the corner from Cates past the swimming area. It was around 30-50 feet deep and there was only a couple of Rock Crab in the traps. We dropped mine closer to the entrance of the inlet that takes you to Rocky point, just south of Belcarra park. I dropped them in 70-80 feet and they had 30-50 crab in the traps with sufficient keepers.
