Hey there...

Just curious as to where exactly Kyuquot Sound is?

How did you get up there?

Was it a charter that you took and caught the fish?

The reason I ask is because at one point in my life I'd love to head up the coast and catch a charter and do some serious chuck fishing.  I fish the rivers max. 3 times a year (i fish lakes mostly for peace and quiet) and its fun...but I'd love to try halibut and other fishing.

Thanks,

-rob C

Kyuquot sound is boat access only. We get picked up at Fair Harbor ( near Zebellos ) by Dave Murphy's crew ( he has a website- www.murphysportfishing.com )  and taken across. Costs around $1700, but that includes everything but booze and is well worth it. Our halis this year were 95, 86, plus a bunch of chickens 25-35lbs. Lings to 40lbs.  We released most springs under 30lbs and the spring pic at the bottom is right around 40, although I thought for sure it was going to go 45+
We saw a spring on the scale at Zebellos on our drive up at 55lbs!
