Does anybody know how to access the mouth of Cypress creek-West Van-ie-where to park legally , and access the wader fishing area ? I bet that would be great , on a sunny nite. Thanks !

Cypress is more of a flyfishing beach, and gear guys are not looked upon very kindly... I would not bother, honestly.
Stick to ambleside, you've got LOTS of fishing options.

There has been a war for years out there, the Fly people wanted to close the beach down to Flyfishing only ya right.
If you want parking go down I think it is Sterman(Sp) just past the bridge on the left handside of Marine. For parking I havent been out there in a couple of years you can always Park at the school and walk down.
I might take my pontoon boat out there and sit ;D In my eyes it is a better spot for gear!

You don't get it Chrome Kings, I'm reflecting what I've been told by others, I don't care myself at all...
Unless you didn't know, I go both ways... Yes that's right, I fish a gear rod too. So you'd better get all the facts before you shoot your mouth off.

They get irritated because gear fishers can cast further, and it pushes the fish out of reach sometimes...
You have to understand that properly presented flies are meant to not spook fish, but sometimes spoons and spinners can put fish off. And therefore it ruins others opportunities to hook up.
Anyhow, gotta head to the horse races!
Cheers,

I think gearchuckers should stay at ambleside, thats just me saying it.give the flychuckers their space. there is nothing worse than working a pod of fish and some dork stands 20 feet away only to cuck his buzzbomb across your flyline. we dont need two zoo's

Just use a little common sense. A little courtesy goes along way. If there are four guys flyfishing, don't butt in between them and start casting spinners and vice versa. There are alot of other places to fish.

Agreed. It's not about reserving an area specifically for one kind of technique or not. And unless the regs say otherwise, there are not "Shoulds" or "Ought to's" dictating where you can or can't fish. If I get to a spot first nobody's going to tell me that I can't fish one way or the other. Respect that someone else is fishing in a spot first and let them fish. If the fly guys are there don't move in and crowd them, or if the gear guys are there, fly guys should find another spot especially as the fish are going to be pushed further out by the gear guys anyways.
Still haven't figured out why this is in a fishing report section though. ???

Hi Yofishon, fish where ever you want. If there's room go ahead and join in. However, if there are flyfishermen lined up without much room left then don't try to make a scene. However, it is a public access beach so like wise if a bunch of gear guys got there first flyfishing persons should also stir clear. As public usage means first come first serve.

Gear guys spooking the fish?
Have you ever seen the froth a speyfisherman can cause.
Just the sound alone is enough to drive you nuts.
Seen a guy at the Vedder speyfishing and he was turning the water upside down.
He should have also been passing out Helmets and protective gear for those around him.
There are dorks in all types of fishing.

totally different applications first light, sounds like a troll to me.
