I fished lafarge again today, and once again not a sniff.Fished from 8 to 11:30.Tried trolling small baitfish patterns olive damsels and leeches Burgundy as well as black, small hares ear,doc spratleys.diff. depths mostly near bottom though. There were a couple other people fishing while I was there, didn't see them get any bites either.Perhaps the fish they put in need a little time to settle down. :P

Went to lafarge today from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and was able to catch five bows with one monster. I was with my son and daughter. They are just biting like crazy to the spot where we fished and at times you can see them jumping 3-4 times in a row.

Unless the lake has been stocked in the last couple of days, the last stocking was during the summer.

Yes, Searun. They stocked it last week. See the link below:

Fished Lafarge this morning for three hrs. I used float+ shrimp, ,fire corn, worm, pink spoon, hammered Croc and not even a single bite. :( I think it normally takes them a few days to get hungry and start biting.

Thanks for the info ,rainbow man.

All right I'm glad to hear it.Whatever you did to wake them up good on ya.

Mmmmm, those look delicious.

Thanks trout80. Initially I tried powerbait(yellow) but they are just ignoring it so I switched to fake worms and that did it.
I might go there tonight while my son is having his basketball practice for 1.5 hrs.
Already bought a lighted bobber and hopefully I'll hook some bows again. ;)

I always find that it takes the fish about a week or so to settle down befor people can really start to catch lot. I find its like that at every lake
-
I do next to zero lake fishing so when I hear that someone is buying an illuminated bobber I wonder if the same daylight hours restriction applies to lakes as in rivers? (1 hour before sun up to one hour after sun down fishing is allowed)
-
Checked with Randy @ HatchMatcher (Maple Ridge) and apparently there is no time restriction with lakes unlike river. Just to make sure, I checked with the freshwater synopsis and same thing unless there is a sign indicating time restriction of a specific lake. It was a good point though Gooey esp. I'm a newbie with fishing and the last thing I need is to get a fine by not following the rules. Many thanks.

Looks like someone wants to get a week of fishing to themself. ;)

Well then, when I try again I'll try using some woolly worm patterns. And probably some brown leeches.
Thanks for the info.

For those who are interested in Lafarge Lake, please see a recent press release:
http://www.fishingwithrod.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=16062.msg157207#msg157207
The society has hired a lady to do angler survey on Lafarge Lake over the next few weeks, so some of you may be asked to participate in a survey while they are angling at the lake. The Society will use the information to assess how popular and successful the fish release was. The information will also help guide management decisions over the next few years.

No worries trout80. I got skunked last night and today.
The large trout i caught last Mon was 16 inches long and my biggest so far ever for a trout. Use to go to Mike lake but just under 6 inches. So accdg. to Rodney this is one of the large bows they released for people to catch instead of letting them die due to oxygen deprivation.
Nice to see a lighted bobber floating but sure nicer if it starts diving-might start looking for a glow in the dark lure :-\ ;D

I was down there today with my daughter. An old guy down there told me they had just realsed more hatchery trout into the lake today, a couple hours before i got there.

Tight lines. ;)
