Our friends to the south have wrecked thier salmon stocks, we could learn something, I hope.

It is no different here.  The chinook stocks are depleted everywhere most likely due to the warmer ocean conditions in 2005, and the resulting lack of upwelling and feed.  The only place with strong stocks will be in the Alaska area with the colder water of the Bering Strait.

I sincerely hope all fishing sectors cooperate this year with the need to comply with conservation measures that I am sure we all will be faced with this season.
