Title: Installing Oar Collars

I have bought a new set of oars and I would like to know where the oar collars should be mounted on the shaft?. Is there a set distance your hands should be apart when rowing?

I always set mine up as close together as possible about 1" apart just so you can pinch you thumb in them

I think it's a matter of personal preference. I like to have the handle come to within 2-3 inches at their closest point.
