Title: Roe - how long is it good for?
Post by: Tex on September 27, 2008, 10:39:12 PM
I bought some frozen roe from PacAngler a while back, and thawed it out for a trip earlier in September to the Vedder.  It's been in my fridge since... is it still good to use on the river?  Or is it gonna be gross and should I buy some new jam on the way out?

Thanks!
:D

I'm in the same boat right now (although it's my own cure not bought). I just emptied out the roe onto newspaper and covered it in fresh borax for the night. Before I leave in the morning I'll put it into a container with more fresh borax. My roe had been sitting outside for 3 weeks though (parents don't like it in the fridge) so it was extra jammy.
