Anyone have suggestions for models that would be street legal and carry myself ( 6'3" - 220lbs) and a 50lb+ pack ??
I would need a good tough one that would be rugged enough to backroad it to Merritt and beyond.
I don't know much about motorbikes so anyones experiences would be appreciated.
Thanks
M

Years back I had a 250 Suzuki enduro for backroad trips. The thing I found out was the bike weighed 250 lbs so hulling it over fallen trees was backbreaking and going up really rough washed out roads was exhausting, and you tended to drop the bike. Other than that it was great until someone stole it after 3 years. But that happened in Surrey.

Thanks for the reply TB I think 250cc will be the minimum spec for sure.
Too bad about your bike. All kinds of neat things happen in Surrey all the time.
I bet I know who took it, it was the redfaced guy in the Tapout muscle shirt and the dirty Corona shorts. Or maybe on second thought if it was a few years back then it most definitely the woman in the sunbleached Kokanee Beer Wolf sweat suit. ;)
I ever tell ya the one about the Royal Rumble outside the Whalley needle exchange ? The winner was not Hulk Hogan.

Im 6' 210 and for years I rode a suzuki DR 600 and it was just the right size for me. They are reliable bikes that are good on the highway and fun on the trails, but because they are a fairly heavy bike you have to take it easy on the trails. "One time I crashed mine trying to keep up to a friend on a smaller 250 enduro". As a second choice I would recommend the kawasaki klr 650 they are also great bikes.
