I need to go to North Van tomorrow.
I was wondering if it's worthwhile to make an excursion to Rice Lake.
I see that it was last stocked a month ago, April 20th.

it was stocked may 11, another 1200 so worth going.

Thanks for the info. I was only looking at Rodney's chart. The Freshwater Fisheries website's chart showed the May 11 stocking.

Rice Lake was an unscheduled stocking last week so it wasn't included in the plan that the hatchery sent to me. It's fixed now.

I was there for a couple of hours this morning. I had a couple of bites, using lures. I didn't land either. Several people were on the dock and I saw 3 fish landed, from float fishers using worms. Pretty slow at the lake.
I did chat with a nice lady from Freshwater Fisheries regarding Como Lake. They are monitoring the situation and think it may be an isolated incident. They are expecting the water quality results very soon, and hope to stock about 1000 fish next week, in time for the Children's fishing derby.

Anyone fished Rice recently? How is the water temperature - low enough for one last stocking?

Stockings ended back in mid June. It will resume in mid September.
