Title: Chilliwack River, July 18th 2010
Post by: BNF861 on July 18, 2010, 09:39:47 AM
I would of loved to be out bar fishing the Fraser today, but with other things to do later on, decided to hit the Chilliwack for a bit in the morning in search of red springs. While there are a few fish through the system, I heard of a decent push making its way through. I made my decision on where I was going to target them and was there just after first light.

Saw quite a few roll infront of me while I was there. Got one about 20ish lbs not long after i began fishing. Great fight, made me chase it down river and jumped a few times. Decided to let it go, was darker than I was expecting. That kind of surprised me as I figured with the higher water we recently had, they would shoot up fairly quick with out holding much. A little while later got another, 12lbs but cleaner so I bonked it and headed home. Had two more hits inbetween the two fish but they didnt hook up.

Water where I was fishing was very clear and at a nice height. All in all, great morning with a lot more action than i expected. Felt great to hook a couple salmon again, looking forward to firing up the smoker.

Not everyone...  Why does he need pictures?    Do you not trust him, or have you not seen a red spring before?

i don't think flyfisher meant anything malicious by requesting a photo...he probably just wanted to appreciate "the visual" along with a great report. ;)

i too, would enjoy seeing photos since i have yet the time to hit the river due to uncontrollable circumstances.

it's all good...i also understood where you were coming from, considering some of controversies that arose from previous reports.
