Title: Squamish/Cheakamus/Mamquam River, October 4th 2010
Post by: purplehelmet on October 04, 2010, 08:05:02 PM
Checked weather then water levels & thought it was worth the drive--WRONG.  Dirty, about 3" of vis--what gives?  Saw fish jumping @ Sunwolf & Mamquam train bridge. :'(  No hope of catching them...

Similar experience 2 days ago. Fished a couple of nice spots on the Cheakamus, saw fish rolling, cohos and chum but vis was less than 1 foot. I tried different patterns - no luck. People have been catching both coho and chum yesterday. There might be more in the system now.

If the rain stays away shouldn't be long now.

Heading up to Whistler friday or saturday possibly for the turkey sale (ski and snowboard gear) and thinking of bringing the rod along. Need to do some research on where I can go fish on the river and accessible areas

lakes sound good to me lol, no need to get swamped on an unfamiliar river. I'll have to bring my fly rod along too  ;D
