Title: When did release all wild steelhead start in BC?

I was looking for some information on fishing Cogburn Creek and this article on AnglingBC.com came up in google.

The author states:  "Theres nothing better than a Cogburn Creek wild steelhead to fill the belly, with a little wild Kanaka Creek steelhead tartar.....mmmmmm.Sweet. "

I'm not sure when this article was written.  If it was recently, well, there is a time and a place for sarcasm.

December 13, 2005, with the implementation of the Provincial steelhead stream classification policy.
Probably put in practice in the 2006/07 angling year.

If I remember correctly The Chill-Vedder river went to catch and release all wild steelheads started in 1982. I would race (drive) home on Friday afternoon from University (resident at dorm) and hit the Vedder Saturday morning. There were hardly anybody around because most the meat fisherman stay home. It was not till around 1985  when I caught my first hatchery steelhead in Vedder.  Ah the good old days. ;D
