I would like to buy a fish finder for my boat
And I am leaning towards the hummingbird
Parhanamax 160 as I think this is the the best
Bang for my buck. Does anyone have any other
Suggestions. For use in Harrison and Fraser
Rivers.

For sturgeon fishing, anything that shows you the depth is good enough unless you want to go for the super ones with the "Structurescan" option that can actually show you the sturgeon sitting on the bottom.

I've been thinking of buying a Garmin GPSMAP 421s with sounder for $399 from gpscity. It's colour and generally seems to have decent reviews.
Would love the side scan feature but cant justify the double in price for that feature in a colour model.
I had a PiranhaMax finder on a 13 foot boston whaler and it was decent. No complaints. Seems like a good unit for $100

if it's only a sounder you need and don't mind black and white, the Lowrance Mark 5x should work. Talk to Brent at Nikka.

the side imaging units from humming bird work well, if you used properly it can make the difference in success... saw it with my own eyes today and soon there after... fish on...

Samantha Stevens was a pretty nice witch, ;D when you come across a finder that works for her or one of her contemporaries let me know. ;D ;D

Hummingbird has done agood job for us. 8)

Id rather have a lowrance or eagle than a humminbird
Nikka Marine had a whole bunch of Mark 5's that look like decent units at an affordable price.
Sure the side imaging units are nice but you are all are comparing a $500+ unit with a 100+ unit
its like saying a smokercraft is a like a LUND
