Title: Howe Sound, August 12th 2011
Post by: Sandman on August 12, 2011, 10:14:37 PM
Had my best outing to date on the sound.  It started out slow with the out going tide all morning.  I had only 1 fish from sunrise to noon and this was off Brittania Beach.  Then the tided turned and the fish turned on.  I found a little school in the middle of the Furry Creek Beach and I was into fish after fish.  I hit another school on the way back to Porteau.  I released 6 in total, a full dozen if you count all the long line releases.  All on my pink clouser.

Any news of fish on the Mcnab / Potlatch Creek side of the sound? I'm heading up from Gibsons tomorrow morning (by boat) and am hoping that I won't have to cross over to the Sea to Sky side of the sound...

Any ideas?...

Sorry no, like you I do not relish crossing the sound (my dingy is too small).

Furry creek was an absolute gong show this morning. To make it worse lost more fish to the seals than I managed to get to the net - those seals are getting very accustomed to fishermen now, they just sit about 50 yrds off the beach waiting for some easy pickings
