Title: Chips on Rim of CenterPin
Post by: ALBA CHIEFISH on May 23, 2012, 10:32:00 AM
Hi guys.

was wondering if anybody has feedback on damaged chips on the rim of a Centerpin.  I recently chipped mine  :( and since a ragged cut has appeared on my middle finger.

I was thinking about taking a file to the rim, can anybody recommend a suitable grade of file ?

thx

Don't do that, you can send it to west coast fishing tackle Brian know a guy can polish it for you.

go to the automotive dept and get the necessary sandpaper starting from coarse all the way to fine. I touched up my spinning reel that way

piece of 400 grit wet n dry glued to a lolipop stick should be the ticket ( does your nail clippers have a file ) take off the sharp edge and finish with the 400.

I can see heavy grinding and filing knocking a reel off balance , but in this case, all that is needed is to knock off a sharp edge. A grain or so will make no differance.
