It most certainly was very impressive last night.  I live in the Maple Ridge area with a decent view of the Golden Ears mountains.  They lit up in some of the flashes just nicely.  We had one very close strike as the sky lit up at the same time we heard the thunderclap. 

However - my dog was not amused with the show  :D
