Title: All I want for Father's Day is....
Post by: obie1fish on June 04, 2013, 05:42:12 PM
Ever been stuck when completing this sentence? Happens every birthday/Christmas/ occasion. I've made lists and lost them, given hints that don't work (why do I give hints?...I never pay attention when I get one!), and a thousand other things that met with varying degrees of failure.

SO... I'm asking you out there for ideas that might be good for you, or even good ideas that were actually not so good on hindsight.

Your ideas could be big (new 9.9 motor, or the deed to a tropical bonefish island noone's heard of) or less so ( spool of 8 lb fluorocarbon leader material- the good stuff. Or size 12 and 14 straight eye scud hooks).

A rod you had your eye on? A day trip to a favourite stream from long ago or a new shop you wanted to see?

Have at it, fellas and ladies. And have fun...like fishing it's not what's put in the bag that counts, but what it does for your soul.

pretty sure mine will come true this year  ;D

weekend with the wife in the USA spending time in Seattle, letting her shop at all the outlet shops without a spending cap. On the day heading home hitting Cabelas boat centre to buy my Alumacraft 1236 Jon. Best part will be a weekend together without our boys and she has also never been to Seattle  ;)

The next best part will be fishing out of the new boat on the July long weekend

Your trip sounds great, Hook. Sounds familiar, too! A couple of months ago I took the family down to Portland for an NBA game. My wife loved the outlets, and I hit, among other places, both Cabelas. I only bought gear and reels on sale wherever I went. Most important, happy wife, happy life. Enjoy your trip!
