Title: Boat launch for 18-22' boats to get to the Stave River
Post by: fishman254 on November 03, 2013, 10:41:26 AM
Are there any boat launches for trailerable boats w/in 6 km of the Stave River (on the Fraser)? I know of ones farther away than that (Mission, Haney Marina, Fort Langley), but that's farther than ideal.

Also interested - have a retired friend that is not as mobile as he once was, with a 14' that wants to head to the stave.  I've never had a  boat, so launches are outta my league knowledge wise...

If you have a 12 foot aluminum and small engine 9.9 you could probly just park and pack it in especially the west side there's no parking but once you get it in than get your buddy to drive and park on the east side and pick him up in the boat

Actually, that would be quite "do-able" with a tinny and a two-stroke motor.

If you have a boat that is 18-22' why does it need to be within 6km? there are 16' boats that come from portmann up to the Stave. I enjoy the boat ride.

In addition to the bigger boat I do have exactly that as well (a 12' boat with 9.9 Honda.) I appreciate that feedback.

Good optimistic point. I should just enjoy the ride more.

But the $105 in gas (for the 3 round trips I'll make in the next "X" number of days) is another reason for wanting a closer launch.

You are probably right.

One positive thing is that I look forward to your now 7-1 Broncs meeting my now 8-1 'Hawks in the Superbowl this year. I predict Manning will burn us for 400 yards in the air but we'll win on a miracle last second field goal in an under-dog come from behind victory. You heard it here first.   :D
