Anyone on this forum planning to come. When we first started the CVRCS in 2002 we had good representative but has dwindled the last while.

Around 50 volunteers participated in today's cleanup.

The next one will be the World Rivers Day celebration on September 28th at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Club House. More information will be available soon.

A few of those guys look like they are well past their best before date, lol!

A very low volunteer turnout, but that was just fine as the river was the cleanest we have seen in years … maybe people are actually starting to pick up after themselves!  That and so many others are picking up garbage while fishing, hiking, or walking the trails along this system.  I’m sure Chris will have a few words and many photos to share a bit later.
Thanks to those that did come out; see you next at Rivers Day, September 28 th at the Chilliwack Fish and Game Protective Association’s clubhouse.

Rodney told me after the cleanup we have low numbers turnout for our July cleanup. A number of directors suggested today we should consider cancelling the July cleanup which we will do at the annual meeting early in 2015.

At one time we had 4 cleanup per year with the other in January but we sometimes had bad weather like snow which makes it hard to see the garbage. :P

I will be putting up pictures later on the CVRCS FB page.

I, along with Pete and Mark even did a cleanup around the Hydro Bridge, a first for me to actually get my hands dirty on a cleanup day.

Thank to David A who looked after the booth at the Fish and Game registration.

The area from the Fish and Game to below the Freeway Bridge as Dave said was not bad but the Bench Road area is a disaster which we will tackle if we get enough volunteers on BC Rivers day where we do get 300 or more attend.

Then we have the boat I found dumped in the bush along the river last week, now that is a first, a fiberglass one with a number on it, will talk to the RCMP about that but most likely not a thing to deal with as I donot think it is stolen.
