Title: Map books
Post by: jordanc on September 18, 2015, 05:03:51 PM
I live in Alberta and i'm planning a trip to Vancouver Island to fish rivers this fall. I have the lower mainland backroads mapbook and the fishing mapbook and i find the backroads mapbook to have more usefull information for fishing spots than the fishing mapbook. I want to order one or the other online for Vancouver island. Does anybody have both or have seen both and can suggest 1 over the other.

I don't have region 1's backroad map, but I have the fishing specific map and I wasn't impressed with it.
I have many other regions backroad map books and they have plenty of fishing info in them. Just bring along the regs.

Get the regular one if you are fishing rivers it's way more useful.

Just about every decent truck stop/ gas station I've ever been to has them near the cash register.  If you are driving to BC, just ask for them when you fill up.

Also this book has some half decent information to help you out in conjunction with the map book.
