Just over a month ago I took a 13 y.o. kid named Wyatt out sturgeon fishing for the first time. We started out with chum salmon fishing first (which he also had never caught one until then), then spent the last 3 hours or so sturgeon fishing. Missed a few fish at first, then lost one, then we pretty much ran out of time and didn't think it was going to happen. Ten minutes before we were supposed to leave, one last bite...

Surprised no one has commented. Kudos to you Rod for taking the time to take a young angler out. His smile at the end while releasing that fish makes it all worthwhile. Bet you he's hooked for life now.

Another awesome video Rod! :D Watched it at like 2am while doing some work. Love the "Oh it's off... oh wait it's still on!!!" while setting the hook on a chum, I can't recall how many times I and friends of mine have done something similar. :o

Thanks. It was a pretty good day for sure. :) The big sturgeon at the end completed the trip, good thing it decided to cooperate ten minutes before we had to leave. ;D The kid was already a very experienced fisherman so he knew exactly what to do. The next target for him will be a steelhead. ;D
