Title: Ambleside
Post by: Fish Assassin on July 15, 2004, 09:16:26 AM
Very slow first thing this morning. Nothing caught by any of the fishermen there. Sorry it couldn't be a more favourable report. Perhaps someone who was there later in the morning could report in and let us know how they made out.

I have been to the pier only one time (a week ago, in the afternoon).  I saw a whole bunch of tiny shiners being caught and kept (god knows why).

There ware some other ugly looking fish being caught, but nothing that looked edible to me.

Does anyone catch anything good there?

You can catch salmon (when in season) and flounders. It's a bit of a challenge to land the salmon because of the height of the dock. The flounders you can just lift them off the water.

Ya, maybe I saw a tiny flounder or two as well.  But tiny. ;D

What would people do with tiny shiners, make a soup?
