Title: weaver creek sockeye
Post by: lapetitebuse on August 29, 2016, 06:43:48 PM
Hi,

Does anyone knows if there is sockeye in the weaver creek spawning channel?
I have foreign visitors and I wanted to show them some spawning salmon.

Thanks

Usually at it's height around Thanksgiving.

Here's a DFO publication on where and when salmon can be viewed in BC:

http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/publications/pdfs/wherewhen_to_see_e.PDF

They list Chehalis Hatchery as a place to see adult chinook this time of year. Call them before you go.

Tenderfoot Hatchery on the Cheakamus is another spot.

Tenderfoot chinook program is winding down right now with the chinook program coming to a end. Maybe another week before all the chinook at the hatchery will be spawned. Quiet then until chum in November.
