Federal announcements. Commercial Salmon Fishery to reduced by up to 60%. FN Communal Salmon fishery to be cut back, switched to selective methods or redirected to non-salmon species:

Why? what fishery dd thy close that was going to be open. Ive looked at the list and cant find any, and some fisherys they have shut down one gear type like gillnet but left the other like sein alone.

Without any details, it's hard to figure out if they are announcing anything new or just re announcing already closed fisheries. Same with funding. Governments love to re announces the same money they're spending on something multiple times.

at least they are talking about funding for selective fishing strategies which has been almost everyone's pet chirp for 20 years or more.
