Title: motor size restriction
Post by: roeman on July 12, 2021, 07:34:00 AM
Does anyone know for sure if you can have a larger motor on your boat but not use it on a lake with a 10hp restriction.
Too hard to take off the boat. Thanks

Yes you can use it with it on,it’s good to tilt it up, and put a cover on it, but really you don’t need to.

I've seen people with a gas motor on their boats on electric motor only lakes or sections of lakes. Many people I know fish Roche lake with their gassers on and then shut it down and use oars or electric motors when they reach the south end, which is off limits to gas motors.

So yes, no problem having the motor attached to the boat as long as you are not using it in restricted lakes or areas.

other than tilt it up I have seen some people put garbage bag over the prop and lower leg.
