This is the info shown for the Cowichan, the last line shows power restriction "on parts"
My question is, how do you find out what parts? Can't find any info anywhere
No Fishing July 15-Aug 31, No Fishing from weir (dam) at Cowichan Lake’s outlet to Greendale Trestle, Nov 15-Apr 15
No Fishing in tributaries upstream of and including Holt Creek
Fly fishing only upstream of CNR Trestle (Mile 66) Sept 1-Nov 15
No Fishing downstream of the CNR Mile 66 Trestle between Sept 1-Nov 15
Fly fishing only from signs at Greendale Trestle to CNR Bridge (mile 70.2)
Speed restriction (8 km/h) and engine power restriction - 7.5 kW (10 hp) on parts

it's usually posted on the parts. You might try calling Gord's Fly box in Lake Cowichan 250) 932-9309 or Bucky's Sport Shop in duncan 1-800-667-7270

Found mention of a power restriction(9.9 hp) from the trestle to the highway bridge in Duncan. There was no source given for the restriction, so it could be law or just internet rumour. :P
-
specific restrictions are in the Transportation Act for Canada Regulations.

it's a mess. Several tables for the various restrictions by Province and not in alphabetical order.

Found a restriction in the tables mentioned by "RalphH". "From the Greendale Road trestle in Lake Cowichan village to the highway bridge in Duncan - 7.45 kilowatt" That's 9,9 hp.

Gord is closing up his fly box but there is also Gone Fishing in Duncan (778) 455-1414 to give a call to.

It's always been 9.9 hp from Lake Cowichan to Duncan. Most use them in the upper..
