Title: Where to go ?
Post by: Morty on October 01, 2023, 05:43:37 PM
I live near Guildford and don't get out to the Chedder often enough.  Mostly October- December.
Have 14 year old grandson who lives in Chilliwack and is keen on learning to fish.  I've got him set up with basics (rod, reel, some tackle, etc) but he doesn't have waders yet.  He's been trying on his own a couple of times, but tomorrow is the first day that I'll be able to go with him.

Not knowing the present river: channels, bars, and pools.... Question is, Where's a couple of decent places I could take him tomorrow?
(you can PM me if you prefer)

high bank canal, if you have waders, you can jump down and grab/net any fish

PM sent with some tips and specific spots I think may be good. Also keep in mind the FFSBC will probably stock local lakes this or next week, and usually with the Salmon gold rush, lakes are not as busy so it's a good time to bring kids or others wanting to learn to fish - my wife caught her first trout on the fly in a local lake in the fall and had a lot of fun as we had the lake to ourselves
