Lets say I wanted to buy a boat. And lets say my situation is such that I could only buy 1 boat.
What size and type boat and motor combo would be best to combine the Fraser fishing Saltchuck fishing and even the accessible interior lakes?
Yes you can add a kicker for the lakes.

14-16ft - 25-80hp c/w kicker. I've got a 15' aluminum centre console with a 50hp main. Great for the river, can get into any lake with some kind of launch and can pull tubes and kids on ski's/boards.

I understand the beam needs to be at least 60 inches Do you concur? and what about the depth of the hull?
The flatter the better for the Fraser ... but the 'chuck needs some depth... So where is a good compromise?
This winter CasinoJim gets his boat!!

CJ, I'm in the same "boat" as you so to speak. I too am looking for something for both the fraser and the chuck.
Here's what I have in mind, 14 to 15ft. Aluminum with a 30 to 40 HP 4 stroke prop and a 9.9 Kicker. The prop will probably do if you know exactly where your going on the fraser (i.e. the crossing to Pegleg). If you want to explore on the fraser a bit, a 30 to 40 HP jet would make a great addition (you could probably get by in the the somass/stamp with the jet). The 9.9 would be great for the smaller lakes and trolling in the chuck. Speaking of the chuck, you could fish the mouth of the cap or the alberni inlet with a boat that size.
