does anyone know any spots?
I have been to Barneet marine park and got 5 keepers in 4 times heading up there. I heard of somthing called kates park i used to dock off there with my boat since its in repair i dont anymore. is that the right spelling anyway thanks bye!

try belcarra in port moody. you'll always have luck at high tide
-
I wouldn't eat crab from up in that area...at least not too often.
Cates will do..you might even get a lobster. The buddists release them there from time to time. Imagine my surprise when I was diving along, and a lobster swam by.

yeah i guess aquaboy. i always stay in the tsawassen area for crabbing ever since i bought the 12foot aluminum cartopper.
-
What kind of net should i use at kates and what bait please post a picture of the cage thanks: )
And why is eating crab there bad?
-
there is some dodgy industry up that way, and the water doesn't really get flushed well. The crabs I have seen from up there tend to have discoloration around the gills. I don't eat crab that aren't their natural colour
-
I'm sure no one would eat one thats not natural coloured
So cates park what cage should i use and what bait please post a pic of the cage thanks:)

Any type of traps will work ie. box type, round ones and even the pyramid. Try chicken necks for bait
-
you would be surprised...people eat crab with black coloration all the time....eww
-
I'm not one to complain if someone eats a black bellied chum. If they eat it and don't waste it what's the problem here ?
-
thanks guys:) is cates open at this time?
-
cates park is open to crabbing starting nov. 15

Imagine my surprise when I was diving along, and a lobster swam by.
did you have lobster dinner that night? ;D
-
I have a friend that eats the stuff under the shell , he claims thats the best part of a crab.
-
Is dock crabbing there ilelgal? ???
-
"crab Butter" as some people call it. Nasty.
Then again...in Guernsey, they all eat the scallop roe...which, does taste exactly like scallop, and doubles its size!
