got to the cap at 5:00 am and hooked the only coho in the pool. Slow fishing for what seems to be perfect water hieght this year. Does anyone know if the natives have blocked the river yet? BP

Bug Pumper, where were you fishing, as I was at the Cap at around 4:45 this morn. bottom end. Maybe I saw you? No fish for me :-\ I had my black lab with me.

no I was up top, it would have been nice to meet you. I was joined by a guy with his sheppard that I've seen there often.

I'm heading over there right now (by bus...this may take a while). Gonna try cable pool, either the cliffs, or just below the bridge. Got a hat, sunglasses, and head phones, fishing with a spinning rod (I drift with it), will either be drifting (float) or tossing spoons. Come by and say hi if ya see me.
Will post report later this evening, and hopefully some pics too 8)

It turned out to be a bit of a waste of time for a trip... :-\
Caught one salmon...all 3-4 inches of it, I couldn't shake the smolts, they hit everything (spoons, spinners, and Jensen eggs), it was fun for a while, bit was kinda annoying after a few casts.
Then some random poeple showed up and started jumping off the cliffs, they got back out OK, but it was somewhat amusing to see them doing it.
Another guy next to me got a smolt of similar size, both fish were released as safely as they could have been for a fish that size.
