Nothing...I was using anchovie chunks

Some idiot was throwing crab traps, and threw a trap without looking around, put a trap right over my line, and then when i was about to cast one of my other lines, the same idiot throws another trap without looking around, my hook gets caught in the trap, he throws it and I lose the whole rig. Had one of those "WTF" moments, but he didn't seem to see the problem I was having...

Heading down again tonight for a little while, hopefully the guy won't be there tonight as well...  ::)

No Jericoe is not closed to crabbing. Only place is between Lion's Gate and Iron Workers.
Oh and all of N. Van piers are closed from I believe June and til Sept to avoid anglers and
boater conflict.

We only fished for around 1 hour and a half because it was soo windy and cold and we had one on the line but snapped it off near the peer.

What kind of sharks are you fishing for? just little dog fish, or Salmon sharks or what? ??? I've never done it before, but have caught a few little dog fish while waiting for the crabs to fill my traps.

My Father-in-law is an avid shark fisher from South Africa and would love to get into some. I know we don't have any sharks like a raggie or hammerhead, but it might be enough to whet his appetite. Any info would be great!

The biggest dog fish (shark) I have ever caught was around 5 feet long...thats huge fore a dog fish.  Most are 2-3 ft especially in local waters like burrard inlet.

I would guess fishing dogs would be a little boring for your dad after tangling with a Hammerhead.

It really depends on your dad tho...some people are happy with any bend in the rod, regardless of whats on the other end!

Go North and tackle a salmon shark, related to Great Whites I believe.

We had issues with a few of these this past summer up North, sharks grabbing salmon and running with them, only to be landed after a long fight.

Scary lookign things...  :o
