Title: Rivers start to set drought record
Post by: Eagleye on June 19, 2005, 03:09:55 PM: although the Fraser is quite high right now other rivers such as the Stave, Chilliwack and Coquihalla are very low for this time of year because of low snow packs :(

Don't worry too much about those fish just yet. They don't enter the vedder until october and most spawn in december. Lots of rain by then :P

Don't Cultus Lake sockeye come up earlier than that? ie. August, when discharge is at its lowest in the entire year. It'll be interesting to see how the red spring fishing is like this season. People need to avoid hooking these sockeye in August, ie. not catch and release. Fish selectively.

Nope, the sockeye in the river at that time of year are destined for tributaries of chilliwack lake. The only cultas lake sockeye I have ever seen was on dec. 4th :o
