Title: fun day at the chehalis November 1st
Post by: golfnut23 on November 01, 2005, 10:44:42 PM
Fished near the hatchery all morining and nothing but chums to report, chums chums chums all day, at the very end of the day I decided if i was to catch a clean one id keep it, cause i hear there good to smoke? thought i would give it a try. The very next cast bang fish on! wow wait a minute its chrome, turned out to be a 10 pound hatch coho, i guess that chum smoking experiment will have to wait till another day.

Ya, people normally just add it in themselves, or I'll add it in when I see it's not there. :) This way makes it easier for people to browse for reports when they come in. Thanks! :)

If you're thniking about eating a chum get aclean one to start with and try skinning it and battering it just like fish and chips some people swear they'll never go back to cod fish, just because they're a tad ugly doesn't mean they're not edible.

thanks for the chum advise I'm heading up today so ill give it a try. oh ya also i saw a couple of guys kill a bunch of chums and throw them in a garbage bag , the problem was that they just left them on the side of the river, i reported the activity to the hatchery but the fellows had already left.

On another note it doesn't really bother me to tell people were i fished, if those spots get busy ill find new spots, i really like to explore the river and find new places to fish. Ive fished different holes every year and have had results.

I think i've given uo the vedder until after christmas for the iron. the vedder seems to be producing very low amounts of coho this year. But local rivers and chehalis...HERE I COME!!! 8) 8) ;D ;D

Roe kid, wool was the ticket, to be honest Ive never really tried spoons, blades, spinners all that stuff, Ive always had lots of success on wool and roe.
