scent for what? salmon, steelhead, trout, sturgeon, halibut?

I use a huge variety for sturgeon, especially in teh summer with dew worms.

as for salmon, i use salmonegg scent, garlic, and anise. For steel i use, krill, shrimp, anise and a mix of any of the above lol.

I wonder what it would smell like if you put every commercial scent in a big gob of wool :-X

Ill give you a hint....God comes down to the garden of eden and see's adam sitting there smoking a butt under a tree...he looks at adam and adam is all ashamed of himself...God asks.."Adam, did you do the dirty deed?" and adam admits he did and like any true man, blames it on eve...God asks "where is eve now?"...adam replies, "in the river, cleaning up"...oh damn says God, now the fish are gonna smell like that!!!

The scent of fresh, fly caught, and released Steelhead on your hands, by no means is the best. ;)

saw a guy get a fish behind 4 or 5 guys first cast last saturday on a wool tie soaked in Pro Cure Garlic oil. The guys in front of him had fished roe, pink worms and colorado's and 2 guys were still fishing the run 50 feet below him.

I used to use scent.....but found it compromising my principals with regard to fishin'....kinda like huntin' with a high-powered scope....it left me wondering if it was the scent or my skill that resulted in success.....so I dropped the scent....fishin' stayed pretty much the same....just my thoughts...your milage could vary...;))

I dont ever use scents either.

For steelhead, roe and gooey bob seems to work just fine. I fished roe once, buddy an old gooey bob (not a newfangled scented thing) and I was outfished fairly miserably.

The use of scents isn't necessary, but i do find in certain water conditions they have increased my catch particularly with salmon.

Don't go to the aquarium and pat the orca, I did once and never caught a fish for two years  :'(. Scent of orca is kiss of death to salmon type fish. My thoughts anyway.

make your own scent combos. on low heat, melt vaseline in a pot, and your scent combo then pour into a container and let cool. Good way to make your own smelly jelly.

Thanks for the reminder. I've made some couple of years ago and it's sitting in my fridge somewhere.
