My wife (of 46 years as of 2 weeks ago) and I went to Lac Le Jeune Resort last week for a bit of a fishing getaway. The resort has reopened after a few years closure.  We had supper one night in the lodge and were impressed .We took a cabin.  While the resort has new owners it hasn't been updated much. I fished both the main lake and Little Le Jeune. Beavers have damned the channel under the roadway between the two lakes so it is not passable by anywater craft. Hopefully that is addressed in the near future. Fishing varied from day to day. I got fish all 3 days Fish were deep - mostly between 16 and 18 feet in 20 feet plus of water. On the last day I got my limit of 5 plus my wife got one, all on a sparkly black wooly bugger. Also released a few smaller fish. All fish were Blackwater Pennask (nb) strain between 1 and 2lbs, give or take.  Very few people there. Fall is a great time to fish the lakes without the crowds of May and June.

I've been wanting to try the interior fall fishery for a while now, just for this reason. Also apparently they can get quite aggressive when they feel the temps start dropping, which is a bonus.  One of these years ...

All fish were Blackwater strain between 1 and 2lbs, give or take.

Not that it matters, but the stocking records show Dragon strain going in this year and only Pennask in previous recent years. No blackwaters noted the LLJ stocking reports, if I'm looking at it correctly. Based on the size, those are presumably 1-2 yr stocks.

I think you are right, they are Pennasks. I looked at the stocking reports after I posted the report. I had read otherwise previously plus widespread carping that they are not stocking as many Pennasks in Region 3 as they have previously.

Great to read a fishing report again!

I have camped at the provincial park there many times and fished from their dock which extends a good distance out to the lake. It is a lovely spot and a fairly short drive to Kamloops or Logan Lake. Reminds me I should look at booking a site for the spring to take my boy trout fishing.

Pretty good fishing. Looked for fish in 20ft+ but found nothing. Plenty of fish in the shallows 4 - 8ft feeding and jumping. Hung a balanced leech in that depth range close to shore and it produced bobber down all day. Little guy wanted to keep this when he caught it, which wasn't the biggest of the day. Quite a few 18" among these smaller 14 - 16".

Not sure if it was actually better, you got fish too. I had to move around a lot, keying into one spot and hooking a few right away, then repeat the process at many different spots along the shoreline. Pretty typical for fall behaviours.

This lake brings lots of memory's not for the good fishing as it was always terrible i never caught anything. However we were treated to a pack and wolves chasing a moose across the lake. we drove up in the boat between the moose and the wolf. We were about a foot away from the wolf, it gave up its chase swimming about half way across the lake.
