Decided it was time for a trip up to the 'Squish for some chrome chum action and maybe a coho, if we were lucky. Thickrick, Norm2 and myself found ourselves standing in the Mamquam waiting for some light to fish by. To keep it short, although we all hooked into fish, only Thickrick landed his chum. Norm and myself couldn't seem to land one to save our lives, even though we hooked into them.
Rick's chums:
Eventually the bite died off so we decided to move on.
In the new spot however, the tables turned!
I landed a hatchery coho, about 11lbs:
A little color but I decided to keep her. Nice roe inside too, btw.
Norm hooked a few fish too and landed one chum that wasn't to his liking and was released. Shortly before we left, I ended up hooking into a hatchery coho jack that I brought to shore and let pop off. Meanwhile, Thickrick,in our new spot, only hooked up with fish twice the entire time we were there. We were using wool, spinners, and I used mainly jigs. Gotta love the shine on that one chum of TR's, eh!
