I understand that it's nothing more than a green light. The light attracts baitfish which in turn attracts larger fish.

Yeah, the evening secret is just that : a green light that runs on a car battery that attracts zooplankton which attracts baitfish then predatory fish. It seems that it is an effective way to catch baitfish for free so you don't have to buy them but for actual fishing it seems a little unfair and cumbersome. You could prolly have the same effect with some neon green glow sticks for 5 bucks. I am pretty certain this thing is illegal in BC.  :'(

I believe it is illegal to use a light source to attract fish in B.C. unless it is tied to the end of your line ;) Don't quote me on this haven't read the regulations in a while
