Fish Kill on the Stave
« on: March 03, 2007, 02:25:12 PM »

I have just finished reading the Ridge Meadows News and on the front page was an article about fish kill on the Stave River due to dam maintenance. I sure hope that BC Hydro puts some money into fixing their mistake. Here is the link to the article.

I was tipped off to the kill the day it happened and I am still waiting to hear the final results from the investigation.

I just read the article yesturday, that really has to piss you off.  Getting a good fishery is hard enough without pure negligence killing millions of fish.

When it comes to the politics of fisheries, Joe public is only privy to a small portion of what goes on. On the grand scale, this kill on the Stave is small potatoes. It is good that questions are being asked; without the questioning things like this are swept under the carpet and nothing is done.
