I've heard/read and experienced that at dusk the biggies come out for the days last meal(s). They look for anything big, juicy and quick that they can grab before it gets really dark.  8)

It also depends on where you are fishing. Are you fishing on a lake or river, stream, slough. Their are many factors in which it makes things change.

In lakes I do better numbers wise in the morning but at the night bite I do better for the bigger fish. In rivers I have always done better firstlight.

Definately the dusk bite for me, in the spring on the lakes, when the waters been warming all day, the hatches are starting, and the fish are rising all around you, OMFG I think I'm in heaven...mmmm hatches...

Depends on the season. In summer, it's the evening for sure. In spring, fall, and winter action peaks in the mid morning to mid afternoon. It's all about the equation of temperature, oxygen, and hatch.

If it is big numbers you want; fish hard in the spring and fall late morning through the afternoon. If it's big preditors you want; summer is the time. Be in position at sundown and work close to the shoreline.

LOL. I wonder where you got that info from ::)

It seems that I catch bigger fish at dusk, more so than dawn. I also prefer fishing at dusk because it just seems a whole lot better. More of them grabbing the last bite before it gets dark. ;)

is that when they release the "catchables" in larfage lake that have been starved for a few days and then are killed for their white meat and hero shots?
