Queen Charlottes Trip June 15-17, 2007
« on: June 19, 2007, 03:43:11 PM »

Did a trip to QCL over the weekend and wow, one could not have asked for much better. The Coho have arrived early and the Chinook were plentiful. The biggest fish in our group was a 40lb Chinook which was measured and released by one of our guides. There were a few fish in the 30's with the majority in the high teens to low 20's.

Day 1 was calm and sunny and we hooked over 20 fish, 90% of which were Chinook.
Day 2 was crazy, 25 to 35 winds from the NW (so no shelter) and +15ft swells. We limited out and landed a 37lb'er
Day 3 was windy but from the west, so the swells were not as large, we hooked into the neighbourhood of ~20 fish, 80% Chinook.

We did not even have to target halibut, as they were aggressive enough to go after the cut plugs while we were trolling for the springs.
