Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation fund raiser

Hi Guys and Gals,


my wife, family and friends aka MJ's Breast Friends, has planned a charity drive for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure and I thought I'd help out by passing on the info.


We are asking for your support for a cause that is very important to us. Breast cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer in Canadian women. The critical funds raised by the Run will be directed towards research, education, and awareness programs.


Para-phrasing from their donation letter:

"Our team, "MJ's Breast Friends", will be hosting a Dinner and Dance fundraising event on Saturday, September 15, 2007, which will be held at St. Monica's Parish Hall in Richmond, BC. Our team has been walking/running the CIBC Run for the Cure since 2003. Through the years our team has grown and with more people joining we have been able to collect donations up to $2,000. Our team's goal this year is to raise $5,000. The proceeds from this event will go towards this goal.

We are soliciting donations from area businesses for prizes, decorations, and refreshments to assist us in the success of our fundraising event. As this is still a new event for our team, your help would be instrumental in establishing a quality precedent. Making this event successful this year and in the future can only be accomplished with the generosity of you and your business. If your business is interested in donating to this project we would greatly appreciate your support. All donations would be recognized as donated from your establishment at the party by including your business name in our Dinner and Dance Program.



These donations will be used for the sole purpose and benefit of the Dinner and Dance. No donations will be awarded to MJ's Breast Friends team members. Our goal is to provide an evening of fun, activity, socialization, and enjoyment for supporters of our fundraising event.

Tickets to the Dinner and Dance are $20 each.

For those who'd rather donate money, you will receive a tax receipt for donations of $20 or more.



If you're interested in the dinner and dance, just PM me and I can help out in getting you the tickets. I can also let you know what's on the menu! ;-)


Finally, everyone is welcome to this event including children, family and friends!!!!
