Yesterday evening I took my friend and his wife to Chilliwack river salmon hatchery. We went to the pool just before the hatchery. My friend is new in BC and never saw salmon fishing before…When we just arrived the pool, I saw one person is “FISHon”….  The guy snaged the fish in back. I was explaining my friend that this fish is snagged and should be released….this is the rule and the recreational fishermen are very nice and obey the rules….

But more surprise was waiting for me… that guy landed the fish and started to bang the fish with a rock. I ran towards the guy and shouting to him to release the fish. But the guy acts like that he is deaf. After killing the fish he quickly wrapped everything and left the place like a thief. I am filling so bad, because that guy was a recreational fisherman and I am a recreational fisherman too….

That's not a recreational fisherman, that's a poacher.

Phone them in next time at 1-877-952-7277. The Chilliwack River has a couple of very dedicated conservation officers who regularly patrol it. If they are nearby, they'll attend right away. Check out this recent thread on the same location:
