Mouth of the Seymour, Aug 22
« on: August 23, 2005, 01:30:35 AM »

Arrived at 1600 left a 1800.  Big waste of time.  A whole lot of nothing.  About 8 other frustrated anglers constantly pulling weeds from their line.  A tip to all: don't fish the incoming tide at the mouth the the Seymour.  In the two hours I was there I honestly didn't get a single good retrieve, too much junk in the water.  Even if there where pinks, which there certainly were not, I don't think they would hit a big wad of algae cruising through the water.

This is about the 10th report just like it from the Seymour.  Don't waste your time folks.  Hit the Cap, the Fraser, or your local pier.  I for one am not going to bother going back until I hear some really good reports--that is of course if the fish are coming and some horrible tragedy didn't befall them.

tight lines! (just not at the Seymour)

tell me about it man, i had been trying there almost EVERYDAY the past two weeks, i didn't even bother going since last sat.  i would rather go do some coarse fishing at local piers than to pray for pinks at the seymour.  lots of weeds, yes, and after every retrieve, u just have to pull them off the spoon, dxxn it.   Irresponsible fishermen/walkers leaving their garbages behind, even the dogs' poo r everywhere too, it just frustrates u when u see that while walking to the tip of the mouth. I will wait till there r good reports too   ;)

It was very productive in 2003, poor in 2005 and even worst this year.

all i can say waste of time

It's never a waste of time. That's why it's fishing, not catching, or something like that. ;)

In 2003 it was good, it was also a GONG SHOW.

My idea of fishing is NOT snagging.

I would rather be fishing there alone with only a few fish around than have to witness douchebags fishing with treble hooks wrapped in pencil lead.

Wasn't there a big fish kill a couple of years ago at the hatchery? I heard most of the pinks were wiped out.

Can anyone back up this rumour? I'll go to fish bc and do some searching.

Cheers,
Nicole

I heard this as well.   :'(

That being said, I thought many of the Pinks at the Seymour were actually strays from other systems.(?)
