Anyone a home brewer?  I'm going to get into it.  I love home brew and think it's about time I get to making my own.  I love the idea of always having a cold keg in the fridge.  I don't want to settle for cheap pre-made kits.  I consider myself more of a gormet taste.  And, I also don't like the taste of mass produced beers (budweiser, coors, keystone).  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

A friend and I got into it pretty heavily a bunch of years ago and we got to the point where the beer was actually quite good. The thing that made the biggest difference was making our own mash. The pre-made kits just didn't do it at all and always came up short. Also, find some very good brewers yeast, it makes all the difference. That being said, if you make your own mash you house is going to really smell! You might consider and outside cookery if you have the ability.

IF you need a "professional" trester, you just gime me a holler ;D

I've only really done it with the kits so don't consider me a hard-core brewer at all, but I definitely enjoy it, I've brewed a couple batches of lager, an ale that turned out quite well and some darker brew that I didn't really enjoy.

I like pilsner type beers the best. Nothing beats cracking a 2L of beer :)
Don't really want to invest more time and money into this hobby as of yet cause I just live in a kinda small apartment but I can see myself getting into it once I get a larger place.

Theres only 4 ingrediants. Its what you do with them that matters. I like a double malt with blond hops.
