Chilliwack River October 3rd, 2007
« on: October 03, 2007, 01:53:19 PM »

Out this morning and tried a few spots but nothing to show for it but the highlight of the day was meeting Riverman and we had a nice chat. He landed a pink in the area we were fishing.

Visibility varied from 1 to 3 feet depending on the area you were fishing. Water level had dropped about 6 inches and I noticed the snow level was down fairly low for this time of year, global warming. :-\

Stopped at the Limit Hole and a fellow was landing a large doe chinook that was hooked under the chin. :-X I did not say anything as I thought FOC that has been working undercover in the area might have been around but they were not. Watched the chap whose hands were trembling with excitement with his catch move it to his fishing position and started fishing again. I moved in to remind him to mark his license which he did. ;D

I then stopped in at the hatchery to drop off 2 marked coho heads from and last week and a clipped jack chinook head from an August trip to the Thompson. Had coffee with the hatchery staff and a number of fellows, I believe they were from the Nicomekl hatchery came in, I think they were picking up some pink stock for their hatchery program.

Looked at the hatchery channel, a good number of nice coho there but I believe the FN came and took a few totes yesterday or there would have been more. :-X Snapped a picture, not sure how they turned out.

Checked out a few other spots but did not fish, however I found a couple dozen floats including 5 DNE, 1 balsa and one Stealth but no Drennans  :'( along with about $4 worth of tins as well also some garbage from the Limit Hole.

So although fishless it was a nice outing on a crisp Fall day. If the rain holds off things might be good tomorrow. ;D

Time for a nap now and get ready to watch the Leafs roll right along ;D ;D ;D over the Sens and then get ready for a fishing trip tomorrow to one of our great rivers in the Valley.
