Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had a productive Thanksgiving.

Went up near 100 Mile House and went out trolling on Saturday.  The weather was drizzling, quite warm and overcast.  We didn't thinkwe'd catch much on Canim as my host has never limited out up there.  In three hours on the boat, losing a good 6-8 rainbows, we limited out on our 10 rainbows.  8 were about 12-14 inches, but I caught two really nice ones about 18-22 inches.

The next day, Sunday, we decided to try our luck again.  It was a beautiful sunny day, the wind had picked up and it was colder.  We only caught 3 rainbows and 1 kokanee, all in the 12-14 inch range.  The kokanee was neat as the moment it touched something, it's scales came off so easily!  We lost two others, but it was a slow day.

Great fun!!  I wish I could post a few pictures, but I'm not sure how.

Thats a nice lake.

We have a cabin up there.  On occasion big big lakers can be had there, as can 5lb+ bows.

The only thing is, you usually gotta use bigger lures.  This will of course result in fewer bites and slower action, but when you get a hit, it will be quality.

The key is to focus on creek mouths...of course.

We were in waters of around 60-70 feet, and the lures were probably only 8-10 down, so as we trolled, the rainbows made their way up.  Beautiful lake!  The best way to spend a Thanksgiving weekend in the cool fresh air.  I loved it!

We didn't fish for lakers, although it would have been fun, but catching all those rainbows, of great size, and catching my first kokanee was a great experience.  Excellent country, beautiful coloured-scenery with the birch colours, the pines and firs and the crystal colours of the lakes, streams and rivers up the 97!

I loved it!
