fresh vs. cured roe

i have some fresh coho and pink roe...now I'm confused whether I should just refrigerate them in a ziploc and use them in the next outing..or I should cure them.

To your opinion, is fresh roe outfish cured roe? 

I expect to use the roe that i have only for the current coho season, which i believe is ending within days... so preservation is not an issue.

Definitely cure them before freezing.

if you dont let it dry for a couple hours and put it in some borax it will just fall off your hook.you will have to rerig just about every cast. :(

Yes, uncured bait will fall off the hook pretty fast. For som fast curing, purchase a jar of Procure (double red hot). Sprinkle it in the ziplock bag where your roe is in. Close the bag, shake it for a minute. Let it rest in there for 30 minutes or so. Remove roe from the bag and place it skin side up on a towel. Let it sit and air dry for a period of time until the most of the outer moisture is gone. I let it sit like that for as long as 24 hours sometimes. Once this is complete, you are ready to go.
