Fishing Rod Racks
« on: October 22, 2007, 07:07:03 PM »

I am thinking about building a rod rack in wood class. Does anyone out there have any plans or design layouts for a project like this?
Thanks for your help.  :)

Decide if you want vertical or horizontal. Also look at all the rods you have now. How big are they when they are broken in two, how big is the diameter of your largest at the base.

I want a verticle rack. The largest rod is 5' 5" when broken in half and has a base diameter of 5". I would like a 10 or 12 rod rack.
Thanks.

Do a search for "rod racks" in the Buy and Sell section of the forum.  There have been a few postings before as there is a member here who builds them.

My Grandpa built me a pretty sweet holder last year. It holds 28 rods and has a storage place in the middle. You can also wheel it around.

Here is a pic
